NOC - Relief or Swing Shift

Relief Shift:

8: 00-5: 00, BUT MUST BE flexible and available to fill in during other shifts – vacations, work load, etc.

The position still open is a relief position, 8-5, but will be required to fill in on other shifts as needed.  They want this to be more of a SR. role.  JACK OF ALL TRADES, that is confident in many technologies.  Looking for people with these certs:
  • A+
  • NET+
  • CCNA
  • MS Certified Professional Client side and Server side.

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
  • Monitor Automic (Appworx) Automation Engine for scheduled job completion
  • Ensure batches complete correctly and timely
  • Follow job-specific documentation and processes to restart failed jobs
  • Monitor SCOM for various systems and applications
  • Basic diagnostics of server connectivity
  • Restart services via provided tools
  • Knowledge to engage correct SME team for service restoration
  • Monitor Solarwinds for WAN health
  • Troubleshoot local site issues vs. circuit issues
  • Coordinate with carrier or Telecom and local contacts to restore services
  • Communicate information on a regular basis about outages and issues to IT
  • Ensure time-based communication of outage state and resolution are sent to appropriate segments of IT by severity
  • Remain informed of relevant outage situation to be able to provide insight as requested from other IT members and management.
  • Develop e-mail communication for All Users about outages and other IT Information
  • Monitor E-Mail to the Service Desk for break/fix issues
  • Provide support to callers with technical problems
  • Manage aged incidents to ensure they are not stagnant
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and manage conference bridges with IT professional to ensure core services are restored during IT service interruptions.

All of these tasks require:
  • Ability to analyze alarm conditions as presented by multiple monitoring applications (Appworx, Solarwinds, SCOM, and others)
  • 2 years previous experience in a 24x7x365 IT Operations environment (preferred NOC or Infrastructure Support role)
  • Experience with analyzing system and network performance using monitoring, historical, and graphical data
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer networking
  • CCNA R/S Preferred
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN internetworking devices like routers and switches
  • Experience troubleshooting PC software and hardware issues
  • Experience working critical issues that affect many users
  • Communicate information on a regular basis about system wide outages to various departments within the company
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
