The Junior IT Field Support Technician will support Windows XP thru 10 desktops and laptops in a corporate environment on an Active Directory Domain where employees use network printers, file servers, and software is installed to clients via single media and an automated system or portal (SCCM).  The candidate will be expected to know how to upgrade hardware and software, migrate user data, troubleshoot malware/virus issues, and be involved with other face to face support with the end users
  • At least 1 year experience supporting Windows 10 operating systems and all related components in a corporate environment.  Help Desk experience is acceptable but hands on experience is preferred.
    • Ability to join/disjoin machines from domain
    • Ability to add remove network printers that are hosted on a print server
    • Ability to map network drives and connect to server folder shares
    • Ability to install applications from a file server, USB/optical media, SCCM portal or other automated solution
    • Ability to troubleshoot slow PC  & malware/virus issues
    • Understanding of the operation of multifunction printers/scanners/copiers
  • At least 1 year experience supporting network equipment in a corporate environment (Secondary Support Skills)
    • General TCP/IP knowledge and troubleshooting (e.g. using PING, TRACERT, NETSTAT commands from DOS window)
    • Thorough understanding of how routers, switches, patch panels, WIFI access points, and network cabling  are used in an office network
    • Basic understanding of WAN connectivity and different WAN circuit types
    • Basic understanding of Uninterruptable Power  Supplies (UPSes)
    • Experience with Cisco network gear is a plus
  • At least 1 year experience supporting servers in a secondary role
    • Basic understanding of RAID arrays
    • Basic understanding of physical vs virtual servers
    • Ability to replace hard drives and add memory
    • Experience with HP DL380 series servers is a plus
  • Certifications and Education
    • A+ and Network+ preferred but not required
    • Microsoft MTA Windows 7 preferred but not required
    • Dell manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required
  • Miscellaneous
    • At least 1 year of previous experience at a related energy sector company is preferred
    • Ability to communicate with end users on a level that they understand with minimal “ tech speak”
    • Ability to maintain an itinerary
    • Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
    • Candidate must have a reliable personal vehicle available to them daily that can be used for business to safely move up to 5 computers

The Senior IT Field Support Technician will support Windows XP thru 10 desktops and laptops in a corporate environment on an Active Directory Domain where employees use network printers, file servers, and software is installed to clients via single media and an automated system or portal (SCCM).  The candidate will be expected to know how to upgrade hardware and software, migrate user data, troubleshoot malware/virus issues, and be involved with other face to face support with the end users with minimal coaching from their supervisor.  This technician will also be expected to have a better understanding of network and server technologies than a junior technician would.  This technician would also be heavily involved with office remodels and projects that involve data room maintenance.  This technician would essentially be a tier II IT field support technician.
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting Windows 7&10 operating systems and all related components in a corporate environment.  Help Desk experience is not acceptable.  Hands on experience is required.

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting network equipment in a corporate environment
    • Strong TCP/IP knowledge and troubleshooting (e.g. using PING, TRACERT, NETSTAT commands from DOS window)
    • Experience installing  routers, switches, patch panels, WIFI access points, and network cabling in an office network
    • Understanding of WAN connectivity and different WAN circuit types
    • Understanding of Uninterruptable Power  Supplies (UPSes)
